Waigaon turmeric carries a Geographical Indication (GI) tag from 2016 — one of the few Indian spices where the origin is formally verified. Grown in Haladya Waigaon village, Wardha district, Vidarbha, following a cultivation tradition that goes back to the Mughal era. Naturally 6%+ curcumin — well above the commercial average — which is why the colour is a noticeably darker mustard yellow than what you find on most spice shelves.
Processed the traditional way: boiling, sun-drying, and grinding without chemicals or artificial colouring. The earthy, warm aroma when you open the pack is the turmeric — not added fragrance.
