Whole grain brown rice — unpolished, so the bran and germ layers stay intact. Naturally grown without artificial polish or chemical treatment. Takes a few more minutes to cook than white rice, but the grain has more texture and a nuttier flavour that holds up to strongly spiced dishes.
Works well with dal, sabzis, or as a khichdi base where you want the rice to have some presence.
